The dispute between husband and wife going on in Jamui Civil Court regarding dowry harassment took a violent turn on Wednesday evening. When both the husband and wife reached the court on the date, they had a face to face confrontation. During this time, first the husband beat his own wife severely in the court premises. After this, the wife’s father i.e. father-in-law came to know about the incident, then an argument started between the father-in-law and the son-in-law. Gradually the matter escalated to such an extent that it escalated into a fight and till late evening a large crowd of people gathered with the advocate in the court premises. This high voltage drama continued for 2 hours from the court premises to the road.

Son-in-law escaped from father-in-law’s grip

During this time, the high voltage drama reached from the court premises to the road. The father-in-law started dragging his son-in-law towards the town police station. However, after moving some distance, the son-in-law somehow escaped from the father-in-law’s grip. Father-in-law Golu Das told that he had married his daughter Anju Kumari to Vipin Kumar in Sakal village of Lakshmipur block. The marriage went well for a few days, after which Vipin Kumar started harassing his daughter Anju Kumari. Vipin Kumar started demanding dowry and used to brutally beat his wife, for which a case of dowry harassment was filed in the family court a month ago.

What did the lawyers of both sides say?

The date of this case was on Wednesday, during which his son-in-law Vipin Kumar started brutally assaulting his daughter Anju Kumari in the court premises itself. He started threatening not to keep his daughter with him and to kill him. Advocate of both the parties, Alok Kumar, said that the case of dowry harassment was filed in the family court by the girl’s side and the boy’s side had proposed in the court to keep the girl with them. When both of them arrived on the date, after coming face to face, there was a clash between them and a fight broke out. At present the matter has been put to rest.

After which, on the night of 14 August, the police arrested Manmohan Singh from Kulhal area. During interrogation, Manmohan Singh confessed his crime. He told that he has been addicted to drugs for a long time. He has already gone to jail in drug smuggling and Arms Act cases. On the day of the incident, he had asked his mother for money for drugs. But his mother refused to give him money and also did not let him go out of the house. He fled with the money after the murder After which, Manmohan Singh, in anger, attacked his mother’s neck with a wooden stick kept in the house. Due to which she died on the spot. After the murder, Manmohan Singh wrapped the body in a mattress and set it on fire so that it appeared that the woman died due to burning. Manmohan fled on a motorcycle with 30 thousand rupees kept in the cupboard of the house and his clothes.
