Uttarakhand: Congress’s support for caste census is a conspiracy to divide the majority society – Bhatt

BJP has termed Congress’s support to the caste census as an attempt to divide the majority society. The party accused regional Congress leaders, at the instigation of the Congress high command, of spreading caste disharmony in Devbhoomi for electoral gains.
Party state president Mahendra Bhatt alleged that Congress, which had opposed it since independence till UPA 2, is now supporting it at the cost of caste conflict in the country. He said that Congress remained in power for the longest time, but never got the caste census conducted. In the name of OBC community, Congress is politicizing this issue, while former Prime Minister late Rajiv Gandhi had opposed 27 percent reservation for backward classes under the Mandal Commission. The BJP government gave constitutional status to the OBC and Tribes Commission. Most of the OBC MPs and ministers are from BJP. Apart from this, due to the recently implemented Vishwakarma Yojana, 80 percent people of OBC community are going to come under this circle, out of which about two lakhs have already got themselves registered. But the opposition is seeing its defeat certain in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections on the issue of development, hence they are playing their last gamble to divide the country on caste basis.
Taking a dig at Congress’ announcement of conducting caste census in the state after coming to power, he said, first of all they should understand that only the Center has the right to conduct such a census and not the state. Whereas the process of Bihar he is referring to is caste survey, which is being publicized as caste census. The people of Uttarakhand have always been against such caste discrimination. Therefore, the people of the state will give a befitting reply to such unrestrained and misleading statements by the local Congress leader at the instigation of his high command. Congress leaders are making false allegations of not conducting the census in 2021 while everyone knows that the process has been delayed due to the Corona epidemic. Making allegations, he said that once again it has become clear that Congress is neither concerned with development nor with public welfare schemes, which means their only policy is appeasement of the minority and second is the division of the majority. But the nationalist people of Devbhoomi are aware of these conspiracies to disintegrate the society and the country. Therefore, it is going to reject Congress for the third consecutive time in the Lok Sabha elections.
