FIFA World Cup 2003: Six countries will host the 2030 FIFA World Cup, these countries including Argentina got the responsibility.
Morocco, Spain and Portugal have been assigned to host the 2030 FIFA World Cup, while Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay will host the tournament’s opening match. On the occasion of completion of 100 years of the tournament, football’s apex body FIFA has announced this initiative. FIFA made this announcement suddenly a year ago.
FIFA hosting handed over to six countries
FIFA said that Morocco, Portugal and Spain had submitted the only bid to co-host the tournament. The World Cup was first played in 1930 in Uruguay, with the hosts winning the title by defeating Argentina in the final played in Montevideo. Due to this decision of FIFA, for the first time the right to host the World Cup has been handed over to six countries on three continents. This means that the group stage matches will be played in different seasons depending on the hemisphere.
Argentina team will play matches in its country in 2023
The 2022 World Cup held in Qatar was shifted from the traditional mid-year tournament to November-December, so that the players do not face problems due to the summer. The Football Association of defending champions Argentina said the team would play its first group stage match of 2030 in its home country.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino said that in this divided world, football and FIFA have worked to unite everyone. The FIFA Council unanimously decided to celebrate the centenary of the FIFA World Cup, which was first hosted by Uruguay.
