Uttarakhand: A group of 60 children had come from UP for a picnic in Rishikesh, a teenager drowned in the river while bathing

A teenager from a group of 60 children who had come for a picnic in Rishikesh drowned in the river near Phoolchatti. SDRF personnel reached the spot after receiving information about the incident. SDRF team is running the rescue operation of the teenager.

The incident happened on Monday morning. A teenager drowned in the strong current of river Ganga near Rishikesh Phoolchatti. The teenager was identified as Saqib (15), son of Israr Ahmed, resident of Tulsipur, Uttar Pradesh. According to the information, a group of 60 children from a school in Uttar Pradesh had come to visit Rishikesh.

The teenager had entered the river to take a bath
The teenager is said to be a student of class seven. He had come down to the river to take bath with his friends. The young man went missing due to the strong flow of water. Search operation is being conducted by SDRF till Pashulok Barrage. At present no trace of the young man has been found.
