Uttar Pradesh: Fraud of Rs 3 crore in the name of admission in MBBS! 2 brothers who cheated 16 NEET students arrested
In Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, the police has arrested a young man who cheated students in the name of getting admission in MBBS by opening a company named S-Group. The police had also arrested his brother a few days ago. Two cases are registered against this thug, originally from Bihar, in Vibhutikhand police station. Now the police team has started searching for his other associates also.
DCP Central Aparna Rajat said that the team of ADCP East Syed Ali Abbas has arrested Shashi Kumar Singh, resident of Shahjahopur, Patna, near Gomtinagar station on Wednesday. During interrogation, Shashi Kumar told that by opening a company called S-Group, he along with his brother Ashok used to identify the students who had passed the NEET exam.
Then they used to contact their family members through telecallers and talk about getting them admission in MBBS in major colleges. After which he used to get them to transfer the money through check and RTGS to Saraswati Ammal Charitable Trust, Sanaka Educational and S Group. By the time people understood something, they would close their offices and shift to another place.
ADCP East said that along with Shashi Singh, his brother company manager Ashok Kumar alias Rishi Singh was arrested a few days ago. During interrogation, the accused told that Ashok had changed his name to Rishi. He had also made his fake documents in the same name.
Used to claim to get admission in these colleges
The accused used to claim to get admission to the candidates appearing for NEET in Sanaka Medical College West Bengal, Saraswati Medical College and Santosh Medical College. Together they have defrauded 16 people of Rs 3 crore. Fraud cases are already registered against both the brothers in Noida, Bihar and West Bengal.
