Buy only domestically made goods during festivals… Know what PM Modi said in Mann Ki Baat programme?
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today addressed the countrymen through the 106th episode of Mann Ki Baat program. While addressing, PM Modi said that earlier this month, on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, there was a record sale of Khadi in Delhi. Maximum Khadi was sold from the Khadi store located in Connaught Place, Delhi. PM Modi said that like every time, this time too our priority during festivals should be ‘Vocal for Local’.
The PM further said that the benefits of increasing sales of Khadi are being felt from cities to villages. Our weavers, handicraft artisans, farmers all are getting benefits from it. This is the strength of our Vocal for Local campaign. PM has asked the people of the country to buy indigenous goods during festivals. This initiative will bring economic prosperity to the people of the country.
PM Modi said that two days later, on October 31, on the birth anniversary of Sardar Saheb, the foundation of a very big nationwide organization is being laid. The name of the organization is Mera Yuva Bharat. This organization will play an active role in various events of the Government of India. This organization will work to unite the youth power of the country. Today, through this program I would urge the youth to register and participate in various programs organized across the country.
The Prime Minister said that recently I had requested every village in the country to collect soil. People took up this initiative of collecting soil from every house and today after collecting soil from every house, it was kept in an urn. Then Amrit Yatras were taken out. Now thousands of Amrit Kalash Yatras are reaching Delhi from all over the country. The soil brought from across the country will be kept in a huge Bharat Kalash and ‘Amrit Vatika’ will be made in Delhi with this sacred soil.
At the event, the PM also shared two inspiring efforts related to the glorious heritage of Tamil Nadu. PM said that I had the privilege of knowing about the famous Tamil writer sister Shivashankari ji. He has started a project. It means threading the country together with the help of literature and then connecting it. She has been working on this project for the last 16 years. He translated literature from 18 Indian languages through this project. For this she has done interviews with writers of different languages.
PM said that Ambaji temple is an important Shaktipeeth. Thousands of people arrive from all over the world. Gabbar Marg displays various posture sculptures. The sculptures are made from scraps. I request the Gujarat government to start a competition to promote the Best from Waste initiative. He said that the entire country will celebrate Tribal Pride Day on 15th November. This special day is associated with the birth anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda, Lord Birsa Munda resides in the hearts of all of us. PM Modi said that we can learn from his life what true courage is and what it means to stand firm on one’s determination.
The PM said that October 30 is also the death anniversary of Govind Guru. Govind Guru has made a huge contribution to the tribal and deprived communities in Gujarat and Rajasthan. In the month of November we also celebrate the anniversary of the massacre carried out by the British in Mangarh. I salute all the children of Mother Bharati who was martyred in that massacre.
