PM Modi and Sheikh Hasina inaugurated 3 development projects
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina today jointly inaugurated three Indian-assisted development projects through video conferencing. These three projects are Akhaura-Agartala Cross-Border Rail Link, Khulna-Mongla Port Rail Line and Unit-II of Maitri Super Thermal Power Plant in Rampal, Bangladesh. During this, Prime Minister Modi said that our mutual trade has almost tripled in the last 9 years. In this journey of 9 years, the inauguration of Akhaura-Agartala rail link today is also a historic moment.

On the inauguration of three development projects between India and Bangladesh, the PM said that this is the first link of Bangladesh with the north-eastern states of India. Ports of North-Eastern Indian states and Bangladesh will also be connected through this link. With the construction of Khulna Bangla Railway Line, Mongla Port of Bangladesh is now connected to Dhaka and Kolkata Trade Center through railway. Glad that today we inaugurated the second inning of Maitri Thermal Power Project.
Relations are reaching new heights – PM
PM Narendra Modi said that it is a matter of happiness that once again we have come together to celebrate the success of India-Bangladesh cooperation. Our relations are continuously reaching new heights. The work we have done together in the last 9 years was not done even in the previous decades.
PM Modi said that we have considered our approach of Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas relevant for our closest neighboring friend like Bangladesh. We feel proud to be Bangladesh’s largest development partner. In the last 9 years, about 10 billion dollars of assistance is being given for development work in various sectors. The list of our achievements is so long that it would take a whole day to explain it.
PM Modi said that together we have completed the old pending work, but today’s program has another specialty. The three projects that have been inaugurated today have also been decided by us. We have also had the privilege of dedicating these to the people. I express my special gratitude to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina ji for the success of our joint efforts.
