Uttarakhand: PM Modi will lay the foundation stone of Jamrani Dam project! MP Ajay Bhatt said, tender will be held after Diwali

There is an atmosphere of happiness among BJP workers after the much awaited Jamrani Dam project of Uttarakhand got approval from the Central Government. Whereas, after getting the green signal for the project, the problem of drinking water and irrigation will be solved in future. In such a situation, local people are also welcoming it. If Union Minister of State for Defense Ajay Bhatt is to be believed, the tender for Jamrani Dam Project work will be floated in the month of December and PM Narendra Modi can lay its foundation stone with his own hands.

In fact, since 1975, the people of Terai Bhawar have been waiting for the construction of this dam. So that the drinking water problem of Haldwani is solved and the Terai gets ample water for irrigation. After continuous protests and demands, Jamrani Dam has also been an election issue for a long time. All political parties capitalized on Jamrani Dam in the elections, but now the Union Cabinet has given the green signal. Due to which the way has been cleared that now the dam will soon be visible on the ground.

Union Minister of State for Defense and Tourism and MP from Nainital Udham Singh Nagar parliamentary constituency Ajay Bhatt, who reached Haldwani, told ETV Bharat that the tender for Jamrani Dam Project work will be floated in the coming month of December. It is expected that the foundation stone of this much awaited dam project can be laid by the country’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the month of January. It will be ready by 2028. Through this dam project, while people will get water for drinking and irrigation, electricity will also be produced.

MP Ajay Bhatt said that he has requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to lay its foundation stone with his own hands, then the people of Devbhoomi will welcome him. Along with this, there is an atmosphere of happiness among the public after the central government gave the green signal for the construction of this dam. People are welcoming him everywhere. Ajay Bhatt said that it is very important to make this plan for Terai Bhabar. This issue was raised from time to time at various levels including the House. As a result of which today a pleasant result has emerged.

Cost and Benefits of Jamrani Dam Project

Let us tell you that Jamrani Dam will be constructed at a cost of Rs 2,584.10 crore. In which the Central Government will provide assistance of Rs 1,557.18 crore. Which has been targeted to be completed by March 2028. This project will generate 63.4 million units of electricity. Whereas, 42.70 million cubic meters of drinking water will be available. Apart from this, 57 thousand hectares of land will get irrigation water.
