Kapil Sibal’s health suddenly deteriorated in SC, CJI Chandrachud stopped the hearing
Thursday was the third day of hearing on the electoral bond case in the Supreme Court. During this time, the health of senior lawyer Kapil Sibal deteriorated, after which Chief Justice D.Y. Chandrachud and Solicitor General Tushar Mehta left all the work and first inquired about the health of Kapil Sibal and then both of them also helped the senior lawyer.
In fact, on Thursday, when the five-member Constitution Bench was hearing the electoral bond case, suddenly the Chief Justice asked where is Kapil Sibal? On this, when Kapil Sibal’s team members said something to Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, Solicitor General told the court that Sibal was not in the court for any personal reason and it had nothing to do with the hearing.
After some time, when Kapil Sibal returned to the court, the Solicitor General told that Kapil Sibal was not well and then Tushar Mehta offered Kapil Sibal to attend the hearing virtually by sitting in his chamber. He also said that he also sends tea and some light snacks for them. On this, Chief Justice DY Chandrachud said that if Kapil Sibal wants, he can also sit in the conference room of the Supreme Court and connect from there through video link.
Kapil Sibal accepted the Chief Justice’s offer and attended the hearing virtually from the conference room. However, when Kapil Sibal recovered after lunch, he attended the hearing and after this a familiar heated debate took place in full enthusiasm between Kapil Sibal, appearing for the petitioner, and the Solicitor General. Let us tell you that on Thursday the Supreme Court reserved its decision on the electoral bond case. However, the date of the next hearing has not been specified.
