Uttarakhand: Select committee submitted report to the Speaker regarding the issue of reservation for state agitators, the bill will be called in a special session soon.

Today 23 years have passed since the formation of Uttarakhand state. On this occasion, the report prepared by the Select Committee regarding horizontal reservation in government jobs for the dependents and family members of the state agitators of Uttarakhand has been handed over to Assembly Speaker Ritu Khanduri. Earlier, the Assembly had submitted the report of the reservation bill of the state agitators to the Select Committee. The committee has also made various changes in the report and again submitted the report to the Speaker of the Assembly.

Chairman of the Select Committee, Premchand Aggarwal, says that the committee has prepared the draft of this bill after much deliberation and many discussions. Today it has been handed over to the Speaker of the Assembly. He said that respecting the sentiments of all the state agitators who sacrificed their lives for the formation of Uttarakhand state, the Uttarakhand government has made all efforts to provide horizontal reservation in government services to the dependents and their families of the state agitators. The Select Committee has given its full contribution.

Assembly Speaker Ritu Khanduri said that she has received the report of the select committee in a sealed envelope. Soon this closed envelope will be opened by calling a special session of the Assembly. He said that the way the bill was presented in the House, many objections were raised on it. But now the Select Committee has returned this bill after all its efforts and discussions. The Assembly Speaker says that soon after talking to the government, a special session will be called in the month of November or December. This bill will be passed in the session, so that the state agitators of Uttarakhand can get better respect and benefits.
