Former DGP of UP formed his own party, making Bundelkhand a separate state is the core issue.

Before the Lok Sabha elections to be held next year, a new political party has entered Uttar Pradesh. Actually, another former bureaucrat of UP has made his debut in politics. Former DGP of the state Sulkhan Singh has formed his own separate party. Let us tell you that in the year 2017, Sulkhan Singh became the DGP of UP in the Yogi government. The name of the party of former DGP Sulkhan Singh is Bundelkhand Democratic Party and its core issue is to make Bundelkhand a separate state. After the formation of the party, Sulkhan Singh, while talking to the media, said that the problems of this area will be raised prominently. Also said that demand will be raised to include 15 districts in Bundelkhand state and Bundelkhand Loktantrik Party candidates will also contest from all these districts in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Demand to create Bundelkhand state with these districts
Former DGP Sulkhan Singh said during a press conference in Banda that even today there are no employment opportunities in Bundelkhand. Due to lack of timely irrigation, farmers’ crops are drying up. He said that the construction of Mau and Marka bridges was started but after the change of government, these important projects also got put on hold. He told that the demand for Bundelkhand state will be made by combining 15 districts of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. The demand for Bundelkhand state will be made by including Jhansi, Banda, Hamirpur, Chitrakoot, Lalitpur, Jalaun and Mahoba districts of UP. Apart from this, there is a plan to include Damoh, Panna, Sagar, Chhatarpur, Datia, Niwari, Tikamgarh and Ashoknagar districts of Madhya Pradesh in Bundelkhand state.
Will field candidates from Bundelkhand in the upcoming elections
Sulkhan Singh said that he is entering active politics for the development of this region (Bundelkhand). For this he has formed Bundelkhand Democratic Party. He said that to strongly raise this demand, he will field candidates from his party in the Lok Sabha and next assembly elections to be held in these districts in 2024. The priority of Bundelkhand Democratic Party will be to create a separate state under any circumstances.
