In Faridabad, Haryana, a 17-year-old girl was digitally arrested in her house for about 17 days. She could not even tell her family members about this. During this period, Rs 2.5 lakh was also withdrawn from his account. You will be surprised to know that digital arrest is not a real arrest. What is digital arrest?

First let us know what digital arrest is. As we said, this is not a real arrest. At least there is nothing like this in India right now. Then what is this? In digital arrest, the victim is called by the fraudster and told that his name has appeared in such and such case and he is no longer allowed to go out of the house. Not only this, the victim is also told that he will be constantly connected to them i.e. the thugs digitally. Also, he cannot tell about this to any of his family members or friends and acquaintances. After this, money is demanded from the victim to hush up the case.

What is the latest case?

A 17-year-old girl in Faridabad, Haryana, which falls in the NCR region, has been made a victim of similar fraud. The victim was called and informed that her Aadhaar number was linked to a parcel going to Cambodia. This parcel contains many fake passports and other cards. The victim is told that she is involved in the illegal business of human trafficking. The thugs make calls by posing as Lucknow Customs officers. He is told that if the parcel is not his then he should go to the concerned police station in Lucknow and lodge an FIR. The victim is then asked to make a Skype call. A frightened minor girl does the same and then becomes a victim of digital arrest.

Fake police station and officer

On Skype call, the victim is shown a fake police station and police officers. Fake customs and CBI officers are also shown to him on Skype. After this the girl is told to remain in constant touch with the thugs. She will remain connected to them on phone or Skype. Also, this information cannot be given to any family member or friends. The girl did the same. The victim was preparing to go abroad for higher education, so her family members thought that she was busy in some work related to studies.
