Pakistani Foreign Minister spews venom against India on BRICS, will Russia help Delhi’s enemy?
After the gesture of Chinese President Xi Jinping, the government of Pakistan, which has become the economic slave of the dragon, has finally applied for the membership of BRICS. Pakistan wants BRICS membership in the year 2024 when Russia will have the command of this global organization. India has strongly opposed the inclusion of Pakistan. Russia has been a close friend of India for decades, but after the Ukraine war, it is now becoming China’s ‘junior partner’. Pakistan’s morale is high due to Russia’s increasing dependence on China. Instead of asking for help from India, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister has taken a sharp taunt.
According to the report of Russian news agency Tass, Pakistan’s recently appointed Ambassador to Russia Muhammad Khalid Jamali has given information about the membership of BRICS. He said that Pakistan wants Russia’s help in becoming a member of BRICS. He said, ‘Pakistan wants to become a member of this important organization and we are in the process of contacting its member countries to garner support.’ Pakistan’s caretaker foreign minister has taken a jibe against India after supporting China.
Pakistani Foreign Minister took a dig
On the question of India’s veto, Pakistani Foreign Minister said that if India does so, then its own status within BRICS will be in danger. Instead of talking to India, the Pakistani Foreign Minister has started taunting. It is believed that the reason behind this is Pakistan’s extreme self-confidence which has come after getting the support of China. Pakistan has been trying for a long time to become a member country of BRICS but India has strongly opposed it.
Pakistan’s membership of BRICS will depend on whether India supports its claim or not. That is why Pakistan, with the help of China, wants to put pressure on Russia so that it forces India to do so. Pakistan wants to further strengthen its identity at the global level by taking advantage of the BRICS platform. At the same time, the Chinese President wants the number of countries supporting him to increase within this group so that he can impose his arbitrary policies.
Which countries are currently members of BRICS?
Now all eyes are on Russia to see what decision it takes on Pakistan’s application. BRICS currently has Russia, India, China and South Africa as members. In January 2024, Argentina, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia and UAE will also become its member countries. Analysts claim that this group of BRICS Plus will go beyond G7 on economic basis. Apart from this, 40 more countries have expressed their desire to join it.
