Uttarakhand / Dehradun: Two dead bodies found near a tea garden, bodies of a man and a woman were wrapped around each other in the drain

An ex-serviceman and a woman died under suspicious circumstances in a tea garden. The bodies of both were found submerged in water in the irrigation canal. The former soldier had gone out for a walk early in the morning. Whereas, the woman was going to cook food in the house. Police believe the death to be due to collision with a vehicle. But, there are not many injury marks on both of their bodies.

Due to this, there is also a possibility of killing them by drowning or in some other way. Post-mortem of both the bodies will be done by a panel of doctors. The incident took place near Daru Chowk on Gorakhpur road. Former soldier Sandeep Mohan Dhasmana, son of Madan Mohan Dhasmana, resident of Ambiwala, had gone out for a morning walk at around 5.30 am on Sunday.

He usually gets back home within an hour or one and a half. Did not arrive even after three hours on Sunday. When the family members became worried, they searched nearby. But, he was nowhere to be found. Even the phone was not answering. On this, Sandeep Mohan’s wife called her father who lives in the village and informed him about his disappearance. He also searched far and wide along with the people nearby. But, no success was achieved.

No contact between the two
After this, he gave Sandeep Mohan’s mobile number to one of his relatives, who got the mobile location through one of his friends in Delhi. The location came near Daru Chowk. When the family members arrived in search of Sandeep on the basis of this location, they saw that his shoe was lying near the irrigation canal.

Another passerby saw that Sandeep’s mobile was lying there. About a meter away I saw that Sandeep was drowned in the irrigation water. A woman also drowned near his feet. The faces of both were clearly visible in the water. He informed this to Premnagar police. When the police reached the spot, they came to know that this area belonged to Vasant Vihar police station.

Police arrived from Vasant Vihar police station and got information about the woman. The woman was identified as Hemlata, wife of Sunil Kumar, resident of Pitambarpur. It was revealed that Hemlata goes to a hut in the nearby village every morning to cook food. Police took the bodies of both of them in their custody and sent them for post-mortem. Initially it seemed that both of them had committed suicide. But, preliminary investigation has revealed that there was no contact between the two.

In such a situation, this fear is also not getting any strength. Secondly, the police believe that a vehicle passing by hit them and both of them fell into the ditch. Due to this he died. The third suspicion is that both of them were murdered. There were abrasion marks on Sandeep’s chin. Whereas, the woman had an injury in her hand.

The police is seriously investigating the death of Sandeep and Hemlata. A letter has also been written to the panel for post-mortem of both the bodies. Prima facie it seems to be a case of collision with a vehicle. But, the police is investigating in every direction. -Ajay Singh, SSP Dehradun
