Uttarakhand: On Silkyara Tunnel accident, Mahendra Bhatt said Congress should be patient till investigation is done.
BJP has urged Congress leaders to be patient till the investigation into the Silkyara Tunnel accident is conducted. State President Mahendra Bhatt said that before reaching any conclusion regarding big development projects, everyone should wait for the high level investigation and report of central agencies.
Responding to Congress’ allegations regarding the causes of the Silkyara accident, Bhatt said that only after getting information about the accident, the state government had given instructions for a high-level investigation. Now that the rescue operation has been completed, the investigation process will move forward. Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari has already said that his department and other agencies will also analyze the entire incident in detail. He said that most people would not have much technical knowledge about this accident and its causes. Therefore, he urged all the opposition leaders including Congress that everyone should wait for the investigation to be completed and the experts’ report to come out. Whatever shortcomings are found in the investigation or whoever is found guilty, appropriate action will be taken. Also, the suggestions received from these will be included in future plans.
Bhatt said, we all are aware of the geological condition of the entire Himalayan region including Uttarakhand, but it is also necessary to carry forward the plans of development and strategic importance. We will have to make coordination between these two situations and accept it as a challenge. He expressed confidence that the lessons and information gained from this investigation will be helpful in making development plans safer than before.
