Uttarakhand DGP Ashok Kumar shared his 34 and a half years of experience, will retire on November 30

1989 batch IPS officer Ashok Kumar will completely retire from the post of Uttarakhand DGP on 30 November 2023. In the year 2020, when the entire country was struggling with the Corona epidemic, IPS Ashok Kumar took charge as Uttarakhand DGP. After taking charge of the state, as DGP Ashok Kumar did many important works regarding law and order. Solved the problems of the general public. Departmental action was also taken against policemen for negligence in duty.

After assuming the command of DGP, Ashok Kumar made many excellent efforts to bring the deteriorating law and order situation in the state back on track. Did excellent policing while battling difficult circumstances during the Corona period. Ashok Kumar’s excellent work in Haridwar Mahakumbh, Kanwar Yatra and Chardham Yatra is included during his tenure as DGP. Apart from this, under the leadership of DGP Ashok Kumar, the police achieved success in many operations including Operation Smile, Operation Prahar, Operation Maryada, Drugs Free Devbhoomi.

More than 34 years of police service

On the last day of his service, DGP Ashok Kumar spoke to the media and told that police work comes with new experiences every day. During his 34 and a half years of police service, he achieved many successes. He told that whether it was the increasing crime in Haridwar or the Uttarakhand movement, he worked during that period also. Along with this, he was also posted in many such districts of Uttar Pradesh where the crime graph was continuously on the rise. He overcame every kind of challenges.

Soumya changed the image of the police

Regarding his service period, DGP Ashok Kumar said that he worked to bring the public closer to the police and made continuous efforts to keep the faith in Khaki, so that the image of the police remains in the minds of the people as a very gentle and friendly police. However, he was very tough on the miscreants. Regarding his future life, he told that he is interested in writing and sports and will work in this field in future also.

Police’s pain depicted in book

DGP Ashok Kumar told that he has depicted the pain of the police through the book ‘Khaki Mein Insaan’. He told that the cases of cyber crime and drugs are still increasing in Uttarakhand, which is very important to be stopped. However, he also tried his best on these matters and achieved considerable success. It is noteworthy that on November 30, Ashok Kumar will be given the last salute as DGP in the police line.
