Uttarakhand: Chauhan said – the whole country is celebrating the safe evacuation of workers, Congress is insulting the rescue team by calling the accident an event
The BJP strongly condemned Congress President Mahara’s terming the success of the Silkyara Tunnel rescue operation as an event, saying that by this he is insulting the rescue team as well. Describing Congress’s attitude as insensitive, he said that when the entire country is celebrating the safe evacuation of workers, then why is Congress uncomfortable?
State media in-charge Manveer Chauhan, while expressing happiness over the safe evacuation of all 41 workers in the Silkyara tunnel accident after 17 days, has termed the statements of Congress state president Karan Mahara and his fellow leaders as irresponsible and insensitive on the occasion of winning the battle of life. He strongly condemned the Congress President’s statement in which he had termed the accident and their successful rescue operation as part of the PM’s event management. He alleged that his thinking explains why Congress has been talking negative and discouraging things since the beginning. On one hand, the country was praying for the safe coming out of all the labor brothers, while on the other hand, Congress was trying to break everyone’s morale by exaggerating the obstacles being faced in rescue operations. On one hand, top experts and disaster management teams from around the world worked day and night to save the lives trapped in the tunnel, while on the other hand, Congress leaders are calling this war-footing as an event of the government and the PM.
Chouhan taunted the Congress by saying that the Congress is so engrossed in opposing Modi and the BJP that even putting the lives of 41 laborer brothers at stake seems like a drama. It is surprising that in the statements of Congress leaders, not the slightest concern, pain or sorrow was visible towards the workers trapped in the tunnel. His thinking is an insult to all the experts and disaster management team engaged in the rescue operation.
Citing the news running in some media organizations known for anti-national news, he also described the statements of the Congress President as spreading confusion. He said that the Congress President’s statement that a senior official of the tunnel’s executing agency had come to the spot is baseless and misleading. They want to mislead the public by talking about no investigation and action, whereas they also know that investigation and action is possible only after the rescue operation.
On the Congress’s statement regarding the compensation amount, he clarified that the assistance of Rs 1 lakh to all 41 workers and Rs 50-50 thousand to the rate miner team is an incentive in view of their courage and morale. Apart from this, the state government has requested the executive body for more help, on which pleasant information will definitely come.
Chouhan said that on the occasion of disaster, efforts should be made to provide relief to the victims by collectively facing them, and not to seek political opportunities in it. However, in every disaster that has occurred so far, Congress has behaved in a manner which is unfortunate.
