Officials said this seizure is six times more than that of the 2018 elections when cash, liquor and narcotics worth Rs 65 crore were seized by Rajasthan Police.

Overall, Rs 690 crore worth of cash was seized by various agencies deployed to ensure free and fair elections in the state, where 199 of the total 200 assembly seats went to polls on November 25, according to Election Commission data. . The Election Commission had implemented the code of conduct in the state on October 9. According to official data, out of the total seizure worth Rs 436 crore since the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct, cash worth Rs 47 crore, liquor worth Rs 39 crore and narcotics worth Rs 87 crore were seized.

Several special operations to stop illegal activities

According to officials, the police launched several special operations to prevent illegal activities during the election process, including a crackdown codenamed ‘Jackpot’ against organized groups. Similarly, campaign ‘Nakkashi’ was launched to increase security at check posts, while ‘Madiradhar’ was launched to trace the movement of illicit liquor in the state, officials said. He said a special initiative called ‘Blood Moon’ was launched to ensure intensive patrolling and checking during the night.

Illegal seizure figure of Rs 20 crore crossed in eight districts

A senior police officer said that the police had also created a ‘war room’ like control unit called ‘Storm Club’ and all the personnel were motivated by giving special mention to their achievements. “During the last assembly elections in 2018, Rs 10 crore was seized in only one district, whereas this time the illegal seizure of Rs 20 crore was crossed in eight districts, while two districts Rs 35 crore was seized.
