‘Hamas chose war instead of ceasefire’, IDF spokesperson said – will use all our strength to eliminate Hamas

After the end of the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, war has started once again. Meanwhile, Israel Defense Forces spokesperson Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari said that they will use their full force against Hamas terrorists.

“We chased them (Hamas) into northern Gaza and now we are chasing them into southern Gaza,” Hagari said. We will use maximum force against Hamas terrorists. Our army had opted for a seven-day ceasefire so that the intelligence could be reviewed. Hamas violated this ceasefire. Now we will use the lessons learned from our mistakes in this new war.

Hamas chose war
After the ceasefire ended on December 1, Hagari said that the Hamas organization had chosen war by violating the ceasefire by rejecting the release of hostages. He said, ‘We have entered a new phase of the war against Hamas. The terrorist organization refused to release the women and infants held hostage. Hamas also fired rockets at Israeli homes, which clearly shows that the terrorist organization has chosen war.

Hagri said, ‘Hamas attacked Israel on October 7, during which they took many of our people hostage. Even now he is holding about 137 people hostage. The IDF spokesman has asked the international organization for help in securing the release of the hostages. Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called a cabinet meeting at the Defense Ministry in Tel Aviv on Tuesday. The meeting was also attended by the Prime Minister along with the IDF Chief of Staff, the National Security Council chief, the head of the Mossad, the head of Shin Bet and Defense Minister Yoav Galant.
