Unlimited 5G data game! Government reprimands Jio and Airtel on Vi’s complaint

Vodafone Idea had complained against the unlimited 5G data offering of Jio and Airtel, for which the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) has strongly reprimanded Jio and Airtel. Vodafone Idea complains that Airtel and Jio are lying to customers in the name of providing unlimited 5G data. While giving instructions to both the telecom companies, TRAI said that they will have to provide clear terms and conditions regarding unlimited 5G data.
What is the game of unlimited 5G data?
According to ET news, 5G service has been launched in India by Jio and Airtel. Also, unlimited 5G data is being offered to the users for free. This is as a promotional offer. However, the complaint of Vodafone Idea has been rejected by TRAI. TRAI says that Vodafone Idea itself is offering many plans under unlimited 4G data offering. In such a situation, there is no point of complaint regarding the unlimited 5G data plans of Jio and Airtel.
Unlimited does not mean infinite
However, TRAI has insisted on providing information to the users about the terms and conditions regarding offering unlimited 5G data to Jio and Airtel. After this, Airtel has clarified that its unlimited 5G data means that a maximum of 300GB data can be used in 30 days. Jio has made it clear that unlimited data does not mean infinite.
