Dhami government’s gift…3177 villages will be connected by road, suspension bridges will also be built

3,177 villages without connectivity in the state will be connected by motor roads under the Mukhyamantri Gram Sampark Yojana. Dhami Cabinet has approved it on the proposal of Rural Works Department. Thousands of population will benefit by connecting these villages to the main roads.

Not only this, apart from motor roads, foot culverts, motor bridges, horse bridges, suspension bridges etc. will also be constructed under the scheme. Under the Chief Minister Gram Sampark Yojana, such villages of the state whose population is 250 or less have been included.

Due to low population, these villages do not meet the standards of the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana or the action plan of the Public Works Department, hence roads have not been built in these villages till date. At present, about 2,035 villages of the state are not connected to the main motor roads.

Apart from this, there are 1,142 villages which are connected by unpaved roads. In this way, a total of 3,177 habitations have been included in the new scheme to connect them with main roads. The scheme will benefit the marginal villages the most. Tourism facilities will increase in these villages and people’s livelihood will increase. Apart from this, villagers will be able to easily transport their cash crops to the market. In case of disaster, relief and rescue operations will also accelerate.
