Mining businessmen have opened a front against handing over mining in Gaula to private hands. Mining traders have been protesting against this for the past several days. On Monday, mining businessmen took to the streets and staged a protest in Haldwani.

Today, thousands of mining businessmen took to the streets in Haldwani under the banner of Gaula Mining Sangharsh Samiti against handing over mining in Gaula to private hands. Mining businessmen took out a procession from Mercury Park to SDM Court and raised slogans against the state government.

Along with handing over mining in Gaula River to private hands, mining businessmen are continuously agitating to demand that the fitness of vehicles be restored to the previous level. After which today all the vehicle owners took out a procession and sent a memorandum to the Chief Minister while protesting in the SDM court.
Warned of launching a big movement soon
Mining businessmen say that Gola mining provides employment to lakhs of people. The government is doing injustice to them by handing it over to private hands. He said that if the government does not take action on their demands soon, a big movement will be launched soon.
