23 people killed in suicide attack in Pakistan, police station building collapsed, bodies being taken out from the debris.

23 people lost their lives in a suicide attack in Dera Ismail Khan area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. This attack took place in a police station in a town of Dera Ismail Khan. According to the report of news agency AFP, three rooms have collapsed due to the explosion and efforts are being made to remove dead bodies from the debris of the buildings. There is a fear that the death toll may increase further.

How did the attack happen?

According to news agency Reuters, the fidayeen had entered the gate of the police station in a vehicle. As soon as they reached the gate they started firing. At least 101 people lost their lives in an attack in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in January this year. According to Pakistani news channel ARY, the police have killed two terrorists.

According to the data of Pakistan’s Home Ministry, about 1823 people of the province have lost their lives in terrorist attacks in the last three years. The area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa borders Afghanistan. Out of 1050 terrorist incidents, 419 incidents took place in Bandobasti district. Whereas 631 terrorist incidents took place in Fata, 201 in North Wazirstan and 61 in Peshawar.
