Team India announced for Under-19 World Cup, Uday Saharan of Punjab will take command

The Under-19 World Cup will be hosted by South Africa next year. The tournament will start from January 19 and the title match will be held on February 11. The defending champion Indian team has been announced for this tournament. Before the World Cup, Team India will also play a triangular series in South Africa. The same players who will play in the World Cup will participate in that series also. Uday Saharan of Punjab has been made the captain of the team. He is also captaining the team in the Asia Cup. Soumya Kumar Pandey of Madhya Pradesh has been made the vice-captain of the team.
India’s first match against Bangladesh
Team India is in Group A along with Bangladesh, Ireland and America. India will begin their U19 World Cup campaign with a game against Bangladesh in Bloemfontein on January 20. After this, it will play its next two group matches against Ireland and USA on 25 and 28 January respectively. The final of this marquee tournament will be played on 11 February in Benoni.

India is the most successful team in the Under-19 World Cup. Till now the Indian team has won the tournament title 5 times. In the last four tournaments, India has played the final every time. In 2000, India became champion for the first time under the captaincy of Mohammad Kaif. After that the Indian team was champion in 2008, 2012, 2018 and 2022 also.
