On receiving the information, the police department team reached the spot, took possession of the dead body and sent it for post-mortem. In the initial investigation of the police, it is said to be a case of love affair and suicide. According to the police, after refusing to marry, the girl committed suicide by pouring petrol on herself. While this sad news has created an uproar in the family of the deceased, there has also been an uproar in the entire area. However, the police have registered a case of abetment to suicide against the deceased’s lover. The police department team is busy investigating the case.
According to the information received so far, 22-year-old Vinita Bhandari, daughter of Mahavir Singh Bhandari, originally a resident of Suman Park Road, Upper Dhalwala in Rishikesh area of the state, had gone to the market on December 4, saying that she wanted to go shopping from home. After which there was no trace of him. Even after a lot of searching, when no news of her was found, the family lodged a missing report of their daughter with the police. After receiving the complaint from the family members, when the police searched the call details of Vinita Bhandari’s mobile, they came to know that Vinita had last talked to a person on the afternoon of December 4. After scanning the CCTV footage, the police found Vineeta Bhandari going from Natraj Chowk towards Dehradun Road, on which the police conducted a search operation in that area and found the half-burnt body of a girl in the forest, about 200 meters away from the main road on Dehradun Road. . Police investigation also revealed that Vineeta had a long-standing love affair with Gumaniwala resident Arjun Rawat, son of Lakhiram Rawat. The last time he talked to Arjun Rawat was that he refused to marry Vinita. Police suspect that Vineeta may have taken this suicidal step for this very reason. After Arjun’s name came up in the initial investigation, the police registered a case against Arjun Rawat for instigating the deceased Vineeta to commit suicide and arrested him.
