According to the ministry’s website, of the 341 COVID-19 infection cases reported across the country till 8 am today, 292 were from Kerala.

Doctors in Delhi asked people to be careful
Amid the recent increase in Covid-19 cases in the country, doctors in Delhi have advised people to wear masks, avoid crowds and eat a healthy diet. With Christmas and New Year approaching, doctors at some hospitals in the city also cited the detection of the first case of the new form of coronavirus ‘JN.1’ in the country and asked people to take extra precautions. According to government sources, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya will review the preparedness of health facilities and services on December 20 in view of the increase in cases of respiratory diseases, including Covid, in some states.
West Bengal government reviewed the situation due to Covid-19
A senior official of the West Bengal health department said that the Covid-19 situation in the state is under control and is prepared to deal with any emergency. After the first case of the new form of Corona virus ‘JN.1’ was reported in the country, the Center had urged the states to be cautious, after which the State Health Department held a review meeting of the situation due to Covid-19 here on Tuesday. The official said that the West Bengal Health Department will participate in the Covid-19 review meeting with the Union Health Ministry. The official told ‘PTI-Bhasha’, “Not a single case of the new form of corona virus ‘JN.1’ has been reported in West Bengal. However, we are prepared with our infrastructure to face any situation.” He said that ‘isolation wards’ are ready at Beleghata ID Hospital and MR Bangur Hospital.
