Uttarakhand: CM Dhami held a review meeting with the Finance Minister and senior officials of the government regarding the revenue collection and increase in income resources for the financial year

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Saturday reviewed in depth the revenue receipts and increase in income resources of this financial year in the Secretariat with the Finance Minister and senior officials of the government. Expressing satisfaction over the state’s revenue collection of Rs 16436 crore against the total target of Rs 24745 crore, which is 66 percent of the target, the Chief Minister has given instructions to the concerned officers to complete the remaining target of 34 percent revenue by February. He said that along with effective control on illegal mining, more efforts should be made to increase the sources of income in this area. Along with developing an integrated system for the Transport Department, Traffic Police, Forest and Mining, instructions were given to the State Tax Department to further strengthen the intelligence system. He also talked about making an action plan regarding determining the bed level of rivers.

The Chief Minister said that the online system should be further improved to keep a close watch on areas like transport, mining, GST etc. More efforts should be made to increase revenue under GST. Effective measures should be taken to stop tax evasion. He also stressed on paying special attention to the use of innovation and information technology to increase income resources. The Chief Minister also talked about ensuring participation of local people in departmental action plans. The Chief Minister said that all departments should work with full alertness and activeness to increase the revenue. He said that UPCL and UJVNL need special efforts to increase their revenue in the energy sector. Vigilance based activities should be carried out continuously in areas prone to electricity theft.

The Chief Minister said that due to 71 percent forest area in the state, there is immense potential for revenue generation. More efforts should be made towards increasing revenue through better utilization of forest resources. Work should be done expeditiously towards commercial plantation in the Terai areas. Proper arrangements should be made for the sale of firewood. Work should be done keeping in mind the long-term plan for the conservation and sustainable development of herbs. The Chief Minister asked GMVN, KMVN and Forest Corporation to improve their working system and pay attention to the basic nature of the action plan of the corporations. He directed that the working capacity of the corporations should also be assessed.

The Chief Minister and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have described this decade of the 21st century as the decade of Uttarakhand. The action plan of all departments will have a big contribution in its success. All departments should move forward in this direction with mutual coordination and efficiency. Efforts were made to increase departmental income resources. The functioning of the departments will also become the basis for the development of the state. The Chief Minister also asked to speed up the efforts to prepare the budget for the next financial year.

In the meeting, details of department-wise revenue receipt targets etc. were presented through a detailed presentation by Finance Secretary Dilip Jawalkar.

Cabinet Minister Prem Chand Aggarwal, Chief Secretary Dr. S.S. attended the meeting. Sandhu, Additional Chief Secretary Radha Raturi, Anand Vardhan, Principal Secretary R. Of. Sudhanshu, Secretary R. Senior officials of the concerned departments including Meenakshi Sundaram, Hari Chand Semwal were present.

Uttarakhand / Dehradun: A heart wrenching incident has come to light from Vikasnagar in Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand. Where a young man killed his own mother and fled from the spot. Actually this incident is of 3rd August. Where Herbertpur police got information about a fire in a house in Rambagh area. When the police reached the spot, they found the burnt body of an old woman inside. The owner of the house, Sanjay Singh Rana, identified the body as his wife Suresho Devi alias Vandana Rana. Earlier it seemed that the woman died due to burning in the fire but the investigation revealed the case of murder. In such a situation, today the police has arrested him. Murdered mother when he did not get money for drugs The next day of the incident, the husband of the deceased, Sanjay Singh, while giving a complaint to the police, told that his son Manmohan Singh used to live with his mother. He was addicted to drugs and often used to demand money from his mother. There used to be a lot of quarrel between the two when the mother refused. The father told that Manmohan was missing from home since the incident. After which, he expressed doubt that maybe his son had committed the murder and set the room on fire. The police already suspected the son The police immediately registered a case against the son and started investigation. After which, on the night of 14 August, the police arrested Manmohan Singh from Kulhal area. During interrogation, Manmohan Singh confessed his crime. He told that he has been addicted to drugs for a long time. He has already gone to jail in drug smuggling and Arms Act cases. On the day of the incident, he had asked his mother for money for drugs. But his mother refused to give him money and also did not let him go out of the house. He fled with the money after the murder After which, Manmohan Singh, in anger, attacked his mother’s neck with a wooden stick kept in the house. Due to which she died on the spot. After the murder, Manmohan Singh wrapped the body in a mattress and set it on fire so that it appeared that the woman died due to burning. Manmohan fled on a motorcycle with 30 thousand rupees kept in the cupboard of the house and his clothes.
