Uttarakhand: Devendra Yadav’s leave from Uttarakhand, Congress gives charge of Uttarakhand to Kumari Selja

After the election defeat in three states, Congress has changed the in-charges of many states, one of which is Uttarakhand state. Congress has made Kumari Shailaja in-charge of Uttarakhand. Till now Devendra Yadav was in-charge of Uttarakhand Congress. For a long time there was a demand to remove Devendra Yadav from the post of in-charge of Uttarakhand. Devendra Yadav has been made in-charge of Punjab.
All India Congress Committee General Secretary KC Venugopal gave this information while issuing a letter on Saturday. Before this, Kumari Shailja was holding the charge of Chhattisgarh. Just before the Lok Sabha elections, Congress has tried to control the factionalism going on in the party by making a major reshuffle.
Kumari Shailaja is originally from Hisar, Haryana, who had been a Union Minister in the previous UPA government. Kumari Shailaja’s political career started in 1990 by becoming the President of Mahila Congress. Before this, Kumari Shailja had been the chairperson of Uttarakhand Screening Committee in the 2017 assembly elections. Shailja Kumari has been the MP of Ambala and served in this constituency for two terms. She also held the post of Cabinet Minister in the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment during the UPA government. She entered her political arena in 1990 as Mahila Congress President. After that, for the first time in 1991, she won from Sirsa Lok Sabha seat of Haryana in the tenth Lok Sabha election and remained the Minister of State for Education and Culture in the Narasimha Rao government.
Earlier, Kumari Shailja was holding the charge of Chhattisgarh, but in her place Sachin Pilot, who was the Deputy CM of Rajasthan, has been given this responsibility, and in place of Devendra Yadav, Kumari Shailja has been made in-charge of Uttarakhand Pradesh Congress Committee.
Let us tell you that for some time, while being the state in-charge of Congress in Uttarakhand, Devendra Yadav was having some differences with the leaders of his own party. From former Congress state president Pritam Singh to many big leaders of the party, they were seen making statements against Devendra Yadav. Earlier, war of words was also seen between Harish Rawat and Devendra Yadav. Due to this factionalism, Congress had to face defeat in the Uttarakhand assembly elections for the second consecutive time in the year 2022.
