Formula E: Concern about organizing e-race in Hyderabad, change of government in Telangana may cause problems

Formula E has expressed fresh concern over the race to be held in Hyderabad on February 10, saying that after the latest information received from the new government in Telangana, it seems difficult to organize it. The first electric race in the country took place in February this year and the then IT Minister KT Rama Rao played an important role in organizing it. KTR’s BRS party, however, lost the elections in December and the Congress is now in power.

In view of the operational difficulties in organizing the first race, Formula E has removed Hyderabad from the temporary calendar although it was included in October. “Following the recent official communication from the new government of Telangana, Formula E seeks immediate clarification regarding its contractual commitments under the agreement and how this may impact the Hyderabad race,” Formula E said in a statement. It said, ‘After reading the letter, Formula E is concerned that this race will not be able to take place as scheduled.’
