Uttarakhand: Under ‘Swachh Bharat Mission’, CM Dhami flagged off 58 door-to-door vehicles for waste management in the city
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Tuesday flagged off 58 door-to-door vehicles for waste management in Dehradun city under ‘Swachh Bharat Mission’ from the Chief Minister Camp Office. On this occasion he also released a song based on segregation.
The Chief Minister said that the availability of these vehicles will greatly facilitate the Municipal Corporation in waste management. He said that the state government is continuously working towards cleanliness in the state. We all have to contribute our full contribution to Swachh Bharat Mission. Continuous efforts are being made for a clean and beautiful Doon. Awareness towards cleanliness has increased rapidly among people. He said that awareness campaigns regarding cleanliness should be run continuously.
The 58 door-to-door vehicles flagged off by the Chief Minister will be used for waste management work from seven assembly constituencies of Municipal Corporation Dehradun, Rajpur, Raipur, Doiwala, Dharampur, Sahaspur, Mussoorie and Dehradun Cantt area. To strengthen the system of door-to-door garbage collection, these 58 vehicles have been purchased by the Municipal Corporation under the Special Assistance Scheme with an amount of Rs 3.98 crore.
On this occasion, Urban Development Minister Premchand Aggarwal, Sainik Welfare Minister Ganesh Joshi, Rajya Sabha MP Naresh Bansal, MLA Vinod Chamoli, Umesh Sharma Kau, Khajan Das, Savita Kapoor, outgoing Mayor Sunil Uniyal Gama, District Magistrate Dehradun Sonika, Municipal Commissioner Dehradun Gaurav Kumar, Additional Municipal Commissioner Veer Singh Budiyal and officials of Municipal Corporation Dehradun were present.
