History made in Islamic country Saudi Arabia, Indian non-Muslim leader Smriti Irani reached Medina Mosque for the first time
A different kind of history was created in Medina city of Saudi Arabia. Here Indian Minister Smriti Irani has visited the Muslim holy city of Medina. This is the first time that a non-Muslim Indian delegation has reached Madina city. Smriti Irani’s arrival in Saudi Arabia, known for its Islamic laws, is being considered historic. Smriti Irani, Minister of Minority Affairs, visited Madina city with the delegation and took stock of the facilities being provided for the travelers there. This is being considered an important step in India’s diplomacy.
An official spokesperson said in his statement that this in itself was a very remarkable and unexpected development. This was the first non-Muslim delegation to be welcomed in the holy city of Medina. He said that this reflects the excellent relations between India and Saudi Arabia. In fact, the Prince of Saudi Arabia had opened the city of Medina to non-Muslims also in the year 2021.
Big agreement with Arab regarding Hajj pilgrimage
After the visit, Smriti Irani wrote on her social media platform ‘X’ that ‘I took a historic visit to Medina today. This included a visit to the Prophet’s Mosque Al Masjid Al Nabawi in one of the holiest cities of Islam, the mountains of Uhud and the first Islamic Mosque of Quba.’ He said that ‘during this time there was an opportunity to know Islam closely.’ With memory Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan was also present.
Earlier, Minister Smriti Irani signed a bilateral agreement with Saudi Arabia regarding Haj pilgrimage this year. Under this, the total quota of Indian Haj pilgrims has now reached 1,75,025. Apart from this, Smriti Irani met with the Indian people who had gone to Saudi Arabia for Umrah.

The city of Medina is one of the two holiest cities as the center of faith of millions of people following the Muslim religion. Medina city is included in the Hejaz region of Saudi Arabia. Medina is the city where Prophet Muhammad stayed. This is considered to be the beginning of the Islamic calendar. Smriti Irani reached near the outer walls of Al Masjid Al Nabawi. After this she also went to see Uhud Mountain. He also saw the Quba Masjid.
