Big achievement of Health Department in the direction of TB free Uttarakhand, more than 10 thousand Nikshay Mitras engaged in supporting TB patients

The efforts being made by the state government for TB-free Uttarakhand are beginning to be seen on the ground. Thousands of people in the state have come forward and taken community participation to serve TB patients. Amidst all this, State Health Secretary Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar has become an example of social participation. Health Secretary Dr R Rajesh Kumar has adopted TB patients for the second time by becoming Nikshay Mitra. The patients whom he had adopted are completely healthy and living a normal life.

Health Secretary Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar said in a statement issued to the media that under the Prime Minister’s TB Free India Campaign, so far 10014 people have registered themselves as Nikshay Mitra in the state. He said that with the aim of making Uttarakhand TB free by the year 2024, the Prime Minister TB Free India Campaign is being run on a large scale in rural and urban areas of the state. In which Ni-Kshaya Mitras are playing an important role in the TB-free campaign by adopting identified TB patients.

In which maximum 2136 Ni-Kshay Mitras are registered in Haridwar district whereas 2205 in Udham Singh Nagar, Nainital 1309, Dehradun 1709, Almora 593, Pauri Garhwal 468, Tehri 392, Pithoragarh 255, Rudraprayag 208, Chamoli 206, Uttarkashi 192, Champawat 187 and Bagh eshwar 154 Ni-Kshay Mitras have been registered.

Today, on January 10, 2024, under the Prime Minister’s TB Free India Campaign, Health Secretary Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar, in the District Tuberculosis Office, Dehradun, as a Tuberculosis Mitra, provided monthly nutrition to the TB patients and appealed to the general public that the society should All sections of society should come forward and cooperate in the success of the program. One year ago, two tuberculosis patients were given nutritious food by the Secretary as Ni-Kshaya Mitra, who have now become healthy.

Chief Medical Officer, Dehradun, Officer-in-charge, NTEP, Uttarakhand, District Tuberculosis Officer, Dehradun and other officers and employees were present in this program.
