Congress leader Milind Deora along with his supporters has termed Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde faction’s joining Shiv Sena as a rumour. On Saturday (January 13), news of his leaving the party was revealed on social media. On this Milind said that he will not leave Congress and go anywhere.
There was speculation that Milind’s supporter, sitting MLA Amin Patel would also leave Congress and join Shinde faction’s Shiv Sena, but he has made it clear that he will not leave Congress.
Understand the turmoil going on in Congress regarding Deora in 2 points…
- Milind Deora is the son of late Congress leader Murli Deora. Congress has always won from Mumbai South seat and the Deora family has been associated with this parliamentary constituency for many years. But the MP from this seat is Uddhav group leader Arvind Sawant. Sawant has been elected from this seat twice.
- Before the Lok Sabha elections, there is a discussion about seat sharing in the opposition alliance I.N.D.I.A. Uddhav faction’s party Shiv Sena (UBT) is also included in this alliance. Their leader Arvind Sawant has won this seat twice. In such a situation, Uddhav does not want to give this seat to Congress. Strategists believe that Milind Deora will not get a ticket from Congress because of the alliance.
Milind did not attend Congress meeting
On Friday, meetings of Congress officials were held at Garware Club and Mumbai Congress office. Devara did not attend both these meetings. Many leaders contacted him and asked him to attend the meeting, but there was no response from him.
