While bowling, Shamar sent Steve Smith to the pavilion on his very first ball of Test cricket. Smith had come out to open the innings in this match. Smith came out to open the innings for the first time in Test cricket and was out after scoring just 12 runs. Apart from Smith, Shamar also showed the way to the pavilion to Marnus Labuschagne. The first day of the debut test match became very memorable for Shamar. By the end of the day’s play, Australia had lost two wickets for 59 runs.
