Chief Secretary Dr. S.S. The third meeting of the general body of Uttarakhand State Council of Science and Technology (UCOST) was held on Thursday under the chairmanship of Sandhu. The Chief Secretary said that UCOST will have to play an important role in promoting science and innovation in the state. He said that to promote science and innovation, we will have to continuously organize such programs for the students of schools and colleges which can inspire them to move forward in the direction of science and innovation.

The Chief Secretary said that an annual science competition should be organized in the state. In which children of any age group of the state should be given the opportunity to participate. Be rewarded and honored in large numbers. This will generate inclination towards science and innovation in children. He said that school students should be taken on tours of science centers of the state. Such labs should be made available to remote areas through mobile vans. He said that activities like Rural Science Congress should be organized at the district level, so that people from remote areas can take advantage of it.

The Chief Secretary said that with the use of modern technology and the cooperation of content creators etc., such knowledge-related videos can be made available to schools and students through YouTube, so that children can understand difficult things easily. He said that all this work can be done with a small amount of money compared to the total state budget, and it can change the lives of our children.

Director General UCOST Dr. Durgesh Pant said that Additional Secretary I.T. Ashish Srivastava, Director ITDA Vineet Kumar, Dr. Ram Mohan Rao from ISRO Hyderabad and Vice Chancellor Doon University Mrs. Surekha Dangwal and other members were present.
