West Bengal / Kolkata: Due to grief over his wife, a man climbed the bridge to commit suicide, police brought him down after luring him with biryani
A high voltage drama was witnessed between the police and a man in Kolkata on Monday afternoon. An ordinary man made the police sweat with his actions. Ultimately the police had to play a trick which trapped him, after which everyone heaved a sigh of relief. Actually, a 40-year-old man was worried due to separation from his wife. During this time his business also came to a standstill. After this he started going through adverse financial and emotional circumstances. Fed up with this, he decided to commit suicide.
According to Kolkata Police, the accused was taking his daughter to Science City on Monday afternoon on a bike. At around 2.30 he suddenly stopped near a bridge. Told his daughter that his mobile phone had fallen somewhere on the road. He is going to find her. After this, he made his daughter stand on the road and climbed on the bridge. Seeing the passersby, he started threatening to jump down. People immediately informed the police. The police team immediately reached the spot. By then a large number of people had gathered there.
Police also called Disaster Management Group (DMG) and fire department personnel to the spot to deal with any emergency. The police feared that if the person jumped down, he might get entangled in an electric pole or fall on the railway track and come under the train. This may result in his death or serious injury. A police officer talked to her daughter, after which it was explained to her that she would be helped in improving her financial situation. He was also offered a job.
Along with this, Kolkata Police lured the person to feed him chicken biryani. After coming under the influence of the police, he got down from the bridge. A policeman present there said, “The person who climbed the bridge to commit suicide is a resident of Karaya Police Station area. He was under severe stress due to financial problems due to separation from his wife and losses in business. We were afraid that he might slip from the bridge and hit the electric poles or fall on the railway track below, which could cause serious injury.”
The policeman further said, “We spoke to his daughter to find out the matter. After that, a conversation was planned to convince him and bring him down. “Finally, after our persuasion, he agreed to come down.” For information, let us tell you that this high voltage drama happened on the main road of the busiest area of the city. Because of this there was a jam there for hours. After bringing the person down, the police sent him to the hospital for medical treatment. Till then his daughter was handed over to a relative.
