Uttarakhand: Former CM Harish Rawat will sit on a symbolic fast, accuses the government of conspiracy

Former Chief Minister Harish Rawat will sit on a symbolic fast in Gandhi Park on February 1 to protest against the Tehri Dam displaced families not getting landholding rights. Rawat said that people sacrificed their farming and homes for the construction of Tehri Dam. But even after 42 years, the displaced people have not got the landholding rights on the land given to them.

We had made efforts during the time of Congress government. Last time in the Assembly, Haridwar Rural MLA Anupama Rawat had raised this issue in the House. I got information that the government is preparing documents to make the process of land rights more complicated. I will sit on a symbolic fast on 1st February against this conspiracy of the government. So that the government can realize its duties.
