Varanasi District Court has given an important verdict in the Gyanvapi case on Wednesday. Varanasi District Court has given the Hindu side the right to worship in the basement of Vyas ji located in the Gyanvapi complex. A few hours after the court’s order, the basement was opened late at night and worship was performed there. On which Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav took a dig at this and termed it as an activity beyond the due process.

He said on social media platform ‘X’ on Thursday, “Due procedure has to be maintained while following any court order. The Varanasi court had fixed a period of seven days for this. What we are seeing now is a concerted effort to go beyond due process and prevent any legal recourse.”

Worship took place in the basement after 31 years
Kashi Vishwanath Trust President Professor Nagendra Pandey said that at around 10.30 pm, after 31 years, Vyas ji’s basement was opened for worship and was cleaned. I think whatever else is missing will be filled gradually. On the question of what happened inside the basement today, District Magistrate S. Rajalingam said, ‘I have complied with the court’s order.’

Muslim side will challenge the order in HC
The District Court of Varanasi on Wednesday ordered to give Hindus the right to worship in the basement of Vyas ji located in the Gyanvapi complex. The Muslim side has decided to challenge this order in court. According to Hindu side’s lawyer Madan Mohan Yadav, the court of District Judge Ajay Krishna Vishwesh has given the right to perform puja in the basement to Vyas ji’s grandson Shailendra Pathak. He claimed that worship was conducted in this basement till the year 1993.

But in the same year it was closed by the then Mulayam Singh Yadav government. The Muslim side has said that it will challenge this decision of the district court in the High Court. Muslim side’s advocate Mumtaz Ahmed said, “Today the district judge has given his final decision by giving Hindus the right to worship.” Now we will go to the High Court against this decision.
