Attack in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan, three terrorists and one police officer killed

At least three terrorists and a police officer have been killed in a shootout following an attack on a police mobile van in Pakistan’s restive Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

An additional SHO was killed when unidentified militants opened fire on a van that was patrolling in Darzinda area of Dera Ismail Khan district bordering South Waziristan, following which a standoff between the police and the attackers lasted for more than an hour, police said. There was firing for some time.

Police said three attackers were killed during the fighting. Police said heavy contingents of police reached the spot to control the situation. An investigation into the incident has been initiated and the police have launched a manhunt to trace the attackers.
