Now National Film Award will not be given in the name of Indira Gandhi and Nargis Dutt

Recently a big news has come out from the entertainment world. Many changes have been made in the National Awards. One of the changes that has been made is that now the National Film Award will not be given in the name of former PM Indira Gandhi and late actress Nargis Dutt. This award was removed from the National Film Category
The names of former PM Indira Gandhi and late actress Nargis Dutt will not be used in the National Award. After deliberations of the committee of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, it has been decided that instead of Nargis Dt Award, this honor will now be known as Best Feature Film Awards in order to promote social, national and social values. Now the name of Indira Gandhi Award for Best Debut Film of a Director has been changed to Best Debut Film of a Director.

Changes in these awards
Apart from the National Film Award, changes have also been made in the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. The cash prize for Dadasaheb Phalke Award has been increased from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 15 lakh. Whereas the amount for Swarna Kamal awards in various categories has been increased to Rs 3 lakh and for Silver Lotus winners, it has been increased to Rs 2 lakh. The amount for the award, which was earlier distributed between the producer and the director, will now go only to the director. Additionally, Best Audiography, which used to consist of three sub-categories, will now be known as Best Sound Design. The prize money has also been increased from Rs 50 thousand to Rs 2 lakh, with which the sound designer will be rewarded.
