Uttarakhand: Budget of more than 11 thousand crores for education, sports and youth welfare, know which department got how much money

The Uttarakhand government has presented its budget for the upcoming financial year 2024-25 in the Assembly. Now the department wise budget is being tabled in the House. Before tabling this budget in the House, Finance Minister Premchand Aggarwal and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed their views regarding the government’s approach, policy and characteristics and visions of the government for the upcoming financial year. After that, the accounts for the upcoming financial year 2024-25 were presented on the table of the House.

Some special features of Budget 2024-25:-

  • The government has kept a budget of Rs 89,230 crore for the year 2024-25.
  • In the budget, there is a budget of Rs 33,414 crore for infrastructure development (capital) i.e. capital expenditure.
  • Budget provision of Rs 55,815 crore in revenue expenditure.
  • The highest budget of Rs 11,244 crore is in education, sports, youth welfare and culture.
  • Budget provision of Rs 2,756 crore in government welfare schemes.
  • Budget of Rs 42,536 crore for finance, tax, planning, secretariat and other expenses, mostly salaries and other expenses.
  • There is no budget for capital expenditure in the Excise Department.
  • Budget provision of Rs 2,796 crore for police department and jail.
  • Budget provision of Rs 4,131 crore for health sector.
  • Budget provision of Rs 1,054 crore for agriculture and research.
  • Budget of Rs 241 crore for cooperation.
  • Budget provision of Rs 452 crore for labor and employment.
  • Budget of Rs 2565 crore for water supply, housing and urban development.
  • Budget of Rs 2915 crore for revenue and general administration.
  • Budget provision of Rs 223 crore for elections, almost 100 percent revenue expenditure.
