Uttarakhand: 42 seater aircraft will fly from Pithoragarh Naini Saini Airport, Civil Aviation Ministry approved
The Union Ministry of Civil Aviation has approved the operation of 42 seater aircraft for Naini Saini Airport in Pithoragarh, the border district of Uttarakhand. Expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia for this, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the operation of 42 seater aircraft will further strengthen air connectivity in the border district Pithoragarh. He said that with the cooperation of the Central Government, air services are continuously being strengthened in the remote areas of the state. This will provide a lot of convenience to the tourists.
It is noteworthy that air service from Dehradun to Pantnagar and Pithoragarh has been started from 26th February. Currently the operation of 18 seater aircraft is continuing at Naini Saini Airport. But now after getting approval from the Union Civil Aviation Ministry to operate 42 seater aircraft, it is now expected that direct flight service from Pithoragarh to Delhi will also start.
Let us tell you that after the arrival of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Pithoragarh, immense tourism potential has increased in Pithoragarh. The number of pilgrims to Kailash Mansarovar and Adi Kailash has also increased. In such a situation, it is expected that with the start of air service, the immense potential of tourism in the border areas will increase. It will also help in rescuing people from there during disaster.
Earlier, CM Dhami had inaugurated the air service from Naini Saini Airport on 30 January 2024. Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia virtually participated in the inauguration program.
