Gautam Gambhir left politics, will not contest Lok Sabha elections
East Delhi BJP MP Gautam Gambhir will not do politics. He made a post regarding this. Gautam Gambhir thanked PM Narendra Modi in the post. Actually, Gautam Gambhir now wants to focus on cricket only. Gautam Gambhir reached Parliament by winning the Lok Sabha elections in 2019. Currently he is the mentor of IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders team.

Gautam Gambhir tweeted, “I have requested party president JP Nadda to relieve me of my political duties so that I can focus on my upcoming cricket commitments.” He also thanked PM Modi. Gautam Gambhir told PM Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP President JP Nadda that thank you for giving me the opportunity to serve the people.

Let us tell you that Gautam Gambhir has been a member of the Indian team in T20 World Cup 2007 and ODI World Cup 2011. Gautam Gambhir played match-winning innings for the Indian team in the finals of both the tournaments. Gambhir had scored 75 runs on 54 balls in the T20 World Cup final. At the same time, in the final of the ODI World Cup, he scored 91 runs. Gambhir is currently the mentor of Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL. He has also been the mentor of Lucknow Super Giants.

Gambhir played his last Test for India in 2016 against England in Rajkot. He represented the Indian team in 58 Test matches in his international career and scored 4154 runs at an average of 41.95, which included nine centuries. Gambhir scored 5238 runs in 147 ODI Internationals at an average of 39.68. In which that memorable inning of 97 runs in the 2011 World Cup final, due to which India won the World Cup for the second time. He played 11 century innings in ODIs. Gambhir also left his mark in T20 International matches. He scored 932 runs in 37 matches with the help of seven half-centuries, in which his average was 27.41.
