Uttarakhand: Will Umesh join hands for Haridwar seat? Pictures surfaced from Delhi

Before the Lok Sabha elections 2024, political activities have also increased in Uttarakhand. Some pictures have surfaced, after which speculations have started that independent MLA from Khanpur Umesh Kumar may join Congress. Umesh Kumar, who is on Delhi tour, has met senior Congress leaders today.

In fact, Umesh Kumar, MLA from Khanpur assembly of Haridwar Lok Sabha seat, held a meeting with Congress state in-charge Shailja Kumari in Delhi today for about an hour. It is being told that Umesh Kumar has met Congress leaders regarding Haridwar Lok Sabha seat and Umesh has made up his mind to join the party.

However, Umesh Kumar has also put a condition that if the party gives him ticket from Haridwar Lok Sabha seat, then he will join Congress along with all his supporters. If sources are to be believed, he wants his wife to contest elections from Haridwar Lok Sabha seat. At present, Congress leaders have not given any answer to them yet, but the party has maintained suspense on Haridwar seat.

While talking to the media, Umesh Kumar told that he has had a meeting in Delhi but right now he cannot say anything clear about it. Umesh says that some decision will be taken soon.

Let us tell you that Umesh Kumar has been planning to contest elections from Haridwar Lok Sabha seat for a long time. Umesh Kumar had defeated Rani Devyani, wife of senior BJP leader and four-time MLA Kunwar Pranab Singh Champion, from Khanpur assembly seat by a huge margin. In such a situation, if he joins Congress and contests from Haridwar Lok Sabha seat, then the contest here could be tough. The problem before Congress is that if it makes Umesh Kumar its candidate from Haridwar, then a large section of Congress may leave the party. At present, in the second list released today, Congress has not fielded any candidate for Nainital and Haridwar Lok Sabha seats. Now it remains to be seen what decision the Congress party takes on these two important seats.
