Congress leaders say that Rajendra Bhandari, who was giving a speech in favor of the Congress candidate a day earlier and was making various allegations against the BJP on the stage, joined the BJP in Delhi the very next day. Actually, Rajni Bhandari, wife of Congress MLA Rajendra Bhandari, is the District Panchayat President from Chamoli and the government has decided to remove her from the post of President twice. Serious allegations of irregular behavior were made against Rajni Bhandari. The government had removed him from the post of president. However, after this Rajni Bhandari approached the High Court twice and was reinstated through the court. Now that Rajendra Bhandari has left Congress and joined BJP. Then Congress leaders say that Rajendra Bhandari and his wife were being investigated in many other cases including corruption. This could also be one of the reasons for his leaving the party.
