Smt. Namami Bansal said that regular action is being taken to prevent misuse of alcohol in the Lok Sabha elections. On March 20, a total of 450 liters of liquor was recovered in Mukteshwar police station area of Nainital and 600 liters of liquor was recovered in Champawat. He said that during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, a total of liquor worth Rs 3 crore was recovered, while during the 2022 Assembly elections, a total of Rs 4 crore 70 lakh was recovered. He said that a total of 497 flying squads have been formed to stop alcohol abuse. Told that apart from a total of 628 liquor distribution centers at the state level, 8 bottling plants and distilleries are being monitored through CCTV. Besides, GPS tracking systems have also been installed on all vehicles engaged in liquor distribution.

He said that during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, people had boycotted elections at a total of 10 booths, most of which were in Uttarkashi. While there was boycott at one booth each in Sahaspur, Ghansali and Haridwar Rural, this time no complaint of boycott has been received from anywhere. Also, all 5625 complaints received so far on C-Vigil have been resolved. He said that in 2019, a total of 30 booths were P-3 (those booths where polling parties leave three days in advance) where the polling parties had to reach on foot. This time there are only 12 such booths. Of these, 11 booths are located in Uttarkashi and one booth is located in Kanar Dharchula, Pithoragarh. There are a total of 586 voters at this booth at a distance of 10 kilometers. Whereas the distance to Liwadi in Uttarkashi is 20 kilometers, there are a total of 577 voters at this booth.
