In Uttarakhand and those districts of Uttar Pradesh adjoining Uttarakhand where voting is going to be held in the first phase on April 19, dry day will be effective from 5 pm on April 17 to 6 pm on April 19. Additional Chief Electoral Officer Vijay Jogdande, while addressing a press conference, said that in case of medical emergency, all the employees, police personnel, PRD volunteers need to be rescued from somewhere during the polling, 2 helicopters have been deployed in the state for this. Attractive offers in hotels and restaurants for voters

This time, various organizations are cooperating with the elections so that maximum voting can take place. The Hotel Association of Uttarakhand has requested that in order to increase the voting percentage and encourage the general public to vote, a discount of up to 20 percent should be given to all the customers who enter hotels and restaurants on April 20 after voting. The proposal has been put forward. For this, customers will have to show the voting symbol written on their finger while entering hotels and restaurants. Its information will be released publicly by the Hotel Association.

48 hour dry day

Additional Chief Electoral Officer Vijay Jogdande said that in Uttarakhand and the areas of UP adjoining Uttarakhand where voting is to be held in the first phase, dry day will be in effect from 5 pm on April 17 to 6 pm on April 19. Apart from this, in view of voting in Bareilly district of Uttar Pradesh on 7th May, dry day will be effective in Udham Singh Nagar area of the state adjoining Bareilly from 6 pm on 5th May to 6 pm on 7th May.

Will be effective in adjacent areas of Himachal and Haryana also

He said that in view of the voting to be held on May 25 in Haryana, from 6 pm on May 23 to 6 pm on May 25 and in view of the voting to be held on June 1 in Himachal Pradesh, from 6 pm on May 30 to 6 pm on June 1. Dry day will remain in effect in the area of Dehradun adjoining these states till 12:00 pm. Also, during the phased voting in other states, dry day will be effective only within a radius of 3 km of the districts of Uttarakhand which are adjacent to their borders.
