Uttarakhand: Major road accident in Nainital, pickup vehicle went out of control and fell into a ditch, eight people died

News of a major road accident is coming out from Nainital. The pickup vehicle went out of control and fell into a deep ditch on the Unchakot motor road in Malla village of Betalghat area. Eight people including the driver died in the accident. While two people are said to be injured.

Pickup vehicle lost control and fell into ditch

The accident is said to have happened at 10:30 pm on Monday night. According to the information, Police Station Head Anees Ahmed said that late on Monday night, information was received about a pickup vehicle falling into a ditch. As soon as the information was received, the police team reached the spot. Rescue operation was started with the help of local people.

Laborers of Nepali origin including the driver were traveling in the vehicle

The police station incharge said that the vehicle was being driven by Rajendra Kumar (42), son of Hariram, resident of Odabaskot. Apart from this, there were nine laborers of Nepalese origin on board. All the workers were preparing to return after completing the work of laying drinking water line in the area when the vehicle went out of control and fell into a 200 meter deep ditch. Two workers are said to be injured in the accident. Seeing their serious condition, they have been referred to a higher centre.
