Global Times said that the ‘rare’ direct statement of the Indian Prime Minister on India-China relations is attracting people’s attention. In this statement, PM Modi had said that there is a need to take immediate steps to normalize the long-running situation on the disputed border between India and China. PM Modi had emphasized on stable and peaceful relations with China which is important for the entire world. Global Times said in its editorial that PM Modi’s statement shows his softening stance.

Global Times said that Indian officials often adopt a strict and sometimes soft stance, but PM Modi’s direct statement on this matter clarifies the entire situation. This is rare in itself and has been given thoughtfully. Global Times said that PM Modi has given this statement at a time when tension between India and China has increased due to America’s biased attitude.
