Gujarat: This state’s police will use AI as a weapon to deal with cybercrime, Chatbot will help the victims

Cybercrime cases have become a big headache for the police. Dealing with the new methods of scammers and making people aware is still a challenge for the police. In such a situation, now Surat Police of Gujarat state will make Artificial Intelligence its weapon against cybercrime. A senior officer of Surat Police said that the police will give training of Artificial (AI) to its employees so that cybercrime can be curbed.

The chatbot will talk in the selected language, will help in finding the nearest police station

Speaking to ANI, Surat Police Additional Police Commissioner Sharad Singhal said, “Artificial Intelligence is the most talked about topic among the new generation. It has been used for the first time by Surat Cyber Cell to protect the citizens of Gujarat from cyber crime. A chatbot has been created which will communicate with the victims in their chosen language.” Cyber crime victims will be able to use the ‘Find My Police Station’ feature to locate their nearest police station.

Cyber Crime, Artificial Intelligence: Public interface will work like a helpline, officers will be given training

According to Sharad Singhal, “This public interface will work like a helpline, which will communicate with the victims at any time. Artificial Intelligence will help the police to find out the number of cases in each area. This, in turn, will identify the density and nature of cyber crimes in cities. Our officers will be trained to use AI to catch cyber crime gangs involved in phishing, stalking and sextortion.” It is worth noting that last month, Punjab Police had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with IIT Roorkee to set up the first in-house Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Lab.
